In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Free airport shuttle — A complimentary shuttle runs on a schedule (every half hour) to and from the airport, making transfers easy for travelers.
  • Spacious, quiet rooms — Guests consistently note the rooms are large, clean, and well soundproofed, with comfortable beds—even with the hotel's proximity to the airport.
  • Good breakfast and dining — The breakfast buffet is praised for its variety and quality, and there's an on-site restaurant, snack bar, and bar/lounge.
  • Extensive facilities — The property includes an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, golf course, billiard tables, and business/meeting facilities, plus a 24-hour reception.

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Not in the city center — Located near the airport, the hotel is a taxi ride (about 20 euros to Gran Via) from central Madrid attractions, rather than being walkable to them.
  • Can feel busy and transient — As a large conference hotel, the lobby and lounges can be crowded with tour groups, which some guests find less intimate.
  • Airport noise possible — Despite good soundproofing in rooms, the hotel's proximity to the airport means some guests might hear aircraft—although many note they don't.

“We first checked into a designer hotel in the center rated 9.2, but after one night we switched to the Marriott. Staying in the center is only for those who can sleep through any noise, even on a quiet street you might have noisy neighbors or poor soundproofing. Good five-star hotels in Madrid are overpriced compared to other European capitals; if you're used to comfort, the Marriott Auditorium is a great deal, the price is reasonable, and the 20 euro taxi ride to the city is worth it—you end up spending less overall. Rooms are large, well soundproofed, with comfortable beds and an iron and kettle. Breakfast is good. Early check-in and late check-out were no problem and free, given the hotel's size (largest hotel chain in Europe). Taxi to Gran Via is 20 euros, to the Zoo 35, to Santiago Bernabeu 30. Alternatively, you can use the free airport shuttle and then public transport to the city.”

“Ideal location for airport access with a courtesy bus, and just a short bus ride from Avenida de America for shopping, bars and restaurants. I've stayed here several times and always find the rooms spotless and very comfortable.”

“Friendly staff and a convenient airport shuttle that made travel logistics easy. The breakfast buffet had a good variety, perfect for fueling up before exploring the city.”

“I liked the facilities—there are many, including a pool and gym. The room was spacious and clean, with a huge bed that had ideal firmness (my personal opinion). Reception and buffet staff were friendly and professional. The driver Ramiro who picked me up from the airport at 1:30 a.m. was charming. You couldn't hear planes at night even though the hotel is close to the airport. Wonderful breakfast—everything was impressive. I had a great time. Thank you very much!”
